DO WE REALLY WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO BE OUR FINAL SOURCE?
I hear a great deal about our government wanting to be more involved in our personal lives. They want to tell us what we can do; what we can eat; whether or not we can have personal firearms; whether we can drive a car without fastening a seat belt; whether we can smoke or not; whether we can profile people; whether we have to have health insurance provided by the government or private companies; whether we can opening practice our religion or not.
I realize that some of the above are for our personal health and safety and that is all well and good, but this country was founded on personal freedom. I have no problems with suggestions form our government for our safety, but I am not in favor of the government telling me what I can do and not do solely for the purpose of controlling how I live my life. That is why this country was founded, liberty and freedom. I don't want to control anyone else's freedom and liberty and I don't want anyone telling me what to do. I am a free citizen of the United States to do what I please as long as it doesn't infringe another's freedom. I have a right to my opinion without being told that I can't express that opinion. That's covered in my !st Amendment Rights under the Constitution.
We hear so much today about being tolerant of others, but that only seems to work for everything other than my opinion. For instance, don't talk against Muslim religion for their Allah, don't say anything about atheism, or homosexuality and gay rights, but when I want to speak about Christianity and the Lord Jesus Christ, I am told that I am not tolerant. Those who call for tolerance are the most intolerant. Why? Because they cannot defend their position when it is judged against the Holy Bible, the Word of God.
There is no other religion or god that can do what Jehovah can do. He gives us salvation freely without any reserve. He heals our bodies when we ask in faith. He provides perfect wisdom for our personal lives, our business lives, and our governmental processes (evident by how this country was founded on the principles found in the Bible). There is no other prophet or god that has offered his only son so that we can have eternal life with Him in heaven. There is no other god that offers unconditional love to those who will call out to Him. Jehovah, the only true and wise God, is the only God that is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. No other god has created heaven and earth, or animal, or human being, or universe or galaxy. No other god was able to cause a virgin to become pregnant with His son. The key is all of this is Jesus Christ. His name is above all other names and His name is all powerful. In every situation Jesus' name has been evoked there has been a miraculous occurrence.
So here we are. The world does not want to hear the name of Jesus. Why? Because it brings conviction on their lives. It brings judgment to alternative lifestyles. It shows lies people are living without having to announce the lies. In each person God has put a spirit that came from Him at that person's creation and it carries with it a void that can only be filled by the Holy Spirit of God to bring fulfillment to their lives, but the fallen nature of man rejects that fulfillment because it removed the need for egotism and personal will. That was implanted by Satan, the Devil, the Evil One, or whatever you want to call him, he is real. He is a fallen arch-angel of God because of his ego and wanting to replace God. He caused man to fall from grace with God, but thanks be to God, He sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to give us back that relationship with God that man had in the Garden of Eden before Satan polluted it. (John 3:16-17)
So where is all of this verbage going? We need to have the name of Jesus put back into the discussion in our society. We need to re-embrace the Christian principles that these United States were founded. He is the only fix to our problems. Government is not our answer. We were founded a Republic. By nature a Republic requires small government with very little involvement in its citizens' lives. Look at our problems in this country. They started in 1963 when a very loud mouthed woman, Madalene O'hare, created such a fuss that our (all knowing govmint, wrong) decided to take prayer out of the classroom. The end of that story is that her son, who she was concerned for, is now a born-again, spirit-filled Christian and Mrs. O'hare is dead. No one knows what happened to her except she was murdered. There are consequences that will come when you stand against God. I don't believe that God killed her, but her lifestyle was not under His protection.
The timeline of 1963 has nothing to do with integration in this country. Dr. Martin Luther King was an instrument of God to bring back equality to mankind, not only is this country, but all over the world. His was a peaceful revolution. Radicals in this country on both sides made it a violent one. But our adversary, the Devil, used the uneasy times to get his claws in it and try to stifle the name of God and Jesus.
America, do you really want to make this country better than it is right now? Then turn back to Jesus Christ, his salvation, and the principles we find in the Word of God, the Bible. Get back to church. Return prayer to the classroom. Return the Ten Commandments to our judicial halls and a presence in society. Allow the church to do the job of welfare for the widows, the orphans, and the hungry. Let the Word of God instill the principle of earning a living again in our people and teaching them that they are not entitled to what others have without achieving it themselves. Stop trying to re-distribute wealth of those who work for it to those who have no intention of working for it. The Bible exhorts us that if we are not willing to work then we are not entitled to eat. America is not a socialistic or communistic society. We are a Republic and as such each man woman and child is responsible for their lives, not an imperfect egotistical government that thinks its knows better how to run our lives than we do. Jesus is the answer. He is the only answer and until our nation is willing to admit that it will continue to go down the tubes to destruction and non-existence.
Turn to Jesus, America.
